Quiet Time
How do you start your day?
Do you hit the snooze alarm until the last possible minute, then bolt out of bed in rushed regret about all you don’t want to do?
Do you go pee, go make coffee, go grab the paper from your doorstep then go fire up all the technology in your home – turn on the TV, turn on the radio, turn on the computer – start texting, tweeting and talking?
Do you get the dogs out, get the kids up, change your baby’s diaper, change your grandpa’s diaper and get the noise going?
Do you run to your yoga class, run to your gym class, run to your chant group, run to your drum circle?
S-T-O-P!
Try beginning the day quietly, silently being thankful for everything.
You say you don’t have anything to be thankful for… start there, giving thanks for that realization.
The simple fact that your eyes opened once again without you even trying should amaze you each and every morning. How cool is that!
The vast network or nerves, neurons and nuances that are you, all arranged themselves once again to give you all the necessary functions.
You can create or you can complain (which honestly is creation in reverse).
You can text and tweet or you can listen to the music of your own breath.
You can be pissed about what did or didn’t happen yesterday or you can unwrap your present with intention and expectation for the desires of your heart.
Just sitting quietly, especially during the quietest moments of the day, contains a pleasure and a power.
Shhhhh…try it.
No, seriously try it….
Ah ahh ahhhh … really, put the phone down…try it!
Ok so you still wanna chit and chat and rat-a-tat-tat…. may I suggest you download the free copy of the audio book written by Adam Mansbach and Ricardo Cortes, narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, titled “Go The Fuck To Sleep”. Sam’s melodic voice will chill you right out!
And look for RougeBuddha’s spin-off of it titled; “I’m Not Fucking Up Yet, Even Though I’m Awake And You Shouldn’t Be Either Cuz The Birds Just Started Chirpin And They Are Singing An Amazing Song I’d Kinda Like To Hear But You Keep Texting Me And I Almost Had A Moment Of Clarity About All I’m Unclear About And In A Blink It Was Gone As My Phone Made That Little Noise It Makes When It’s Not a Call But A Message About Some Random Observation You Could Be Communicating About On Your Blog Or On My Blog, Okay.” You think the title is too long?

LOL! Yeah, I think the title is way too long!
Ha Ha! I got it big sis, no more texting in the AM.
Seriously, I love mornings even though I’m a sleeper…crazy right, but after a childhood of noisy morning, I appreciate the peace and serenity that the AM brings….unitl I just need to text and tell you something…
Awwww….no more texting in the AM….datz all you got from the post??? Why I outta…. – smileyface
I love this ! My mornings always start on a thankful, reflective, quiet note. It is an established priority that I live from the inside out, not the outside in. Connecting with the SPIRIT, the principle of conscious life, is the key. JADE
